User Tips

Initial Use: It is normal to see a small amount of smoke or smell a "burnt" odor the very first time you turn it on. This is simply the protective coating on the heating element curing. It will disappear after 5–10 minutes.
Residual Heat: Because cast iron stays hot for a long time, you can turn the dial to "0" a few minutes before you finish cooking to save energy and let the residual heat finish the job.
